With the way our lives are going right now, we all have questions about healthcare. Who is essential, who is non-essential, can I see my physical therapist or should I see my physical therapist? Physical therapy is considered an essential business. We are open with limited hours and we are following strict CDC guidelines for disinfecting our clinic. That being said, we understand that people should stay home or people would feel more comfortable staying home. This is where telehealth can help. Here are a few FAQs regarding telehealth. Call us if you have any specific questions.
- What is Telehealth?
- Telehealth or e-visits are the electronic version of going to see your physical therapist. With a video platform such as Zoom or Facetime, you and your therapist will set up an appointment time to meet.
- Who is appropriate for these sessions?
- All of our current patients who do not feel comfortable coming into the clinic for their treatment. This includes anyone who is immuno-comprimised or immuno-suppressed, anyone who lives with someone with a poor immune system, anyone over the age of 60 or anyone that just wants to be extra cautious.
- How long are the sessions?
- Most of the sessions will be around 30 minutes. Enough time to see how you are doing, review your current home program and advance anything in the program. This will be a 1:1 session to provide any feedback or correction with your program that may be needed.
- Will my insurance cover these visits?
- We are doing our best to stay on top of the insurance coverage but this is ever changing right now. MOST major insurance companies are covering at least some if not all of the cost of these visits. If you have a more specific questions, please call our office at 610-432-7733.
- Can I get an updated list of exercises?
- Yes!!! Our home exercise program has the ability to email it to you or send you a text message with the exercises. If you use your cell phone, you will need to download the free app in order to open it on your phone.
- What about the hands on part?
- We understand that this is and has always been a crucial part of our programs for you. However, in this uncertain time, your health and safety is our largest concern and we will pick back up with the hands on portion once you are able to come back to the office. We are simply keeping you on track until that time.
